Dr. Reinaldo Rivera, a young researcher at the Millennium Institute of Oceanography (IMO), will teach the pre-congress course “Ecological and Evolutionary Approaches to Understanding Marine Diversity in Deep-Sea Ecosystems” as part of the XLV Congress of Marine Sciences. The course, aimed at students and researchers interested in marine ecology, evolution, and biogeography, will address the principles that shape biodiversity in deep-sea environments and provide practical tools for analyzing ecological and evolutionary data using the R software. The course will be held on July 23 and 24, 2026, at the University of Concepción, and applications will be accepted until July 1, with limited spaces available for a maximum of ten participants.
