The itinerary included visits to the <strong>University of British Columbia (UBC)<\/strong>in Vancouver and <strong>Dalhousie University<\/strong>in Halifax, Nova Scotia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of international outreach activities, Dr. Contreras-Reyes delivered a seminar titled <em>\u00abBasement Outcrops as Pathways for Seawater Circulation at the Southern Chilean Trench\u00bb<\/em> at <strong>Dalhousie\u2019s Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences<\/strong>, presenting research conducted by the IMO in the Atacama Trench.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"<em>The experience was highly fruitful<\/em>\u201d, noted Contreras-Reyes. In addition to the seminar, the researcher highlighted discussions regarding the donation of\"<em>a seismic source (a 9-airgun array), which is an outstanding system for investigating the Chilean subduction zone<\/em>\u201d.
