The position aims to strengthen the Institute's technological capabilities by promoting innovative solutions for ocean and Earth system observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Job Objective<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Develop, adapt, integrate and optimize IMO oceanographic and geoscience instruments, contributing to the design of new technological solutions for interdisciplinary scientific research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Main functions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Develop and integrate sensors, data acquisition systems, instrumentation platforms, and telemetry solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adapt and improve existing scientific equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Implement prototypes and technological solutions for new observation needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prepare technical documentation of the developments carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Support the technical preparation of oceanographic campaigns, the operation and validation of scientific equipment in the laboratory, field and vessels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Support fault diagnosis, preventive and corrective maintenance, calibrations and technical management of equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The position involves close collaboration with researchers, students, and technical teams to identify scientific requirements, translate them into instrumental solutions, and contribute to the Institute's technological innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Required profile<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Training in Civil Engineering, Execution Engineering or related fields is required, preferably in areas such as electronics, mechanics, electricity, instrumentation, digital systems, automation, telemetry, robotics, oceanography or related areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experience in the design, development, integration or adaptation of scientific instrumentation applied to oceanography, geophysics, geology, environmental monitoring or related areas will be valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowledge of sensors, embedded systems, data acquisition, communications, programming, automation, prototyping, applied electronics, and operation of scientific equipment in the field will also be highly valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ideal candidate will possess the ability to solve complex technical problems, propose innovative solutions, work in dynamic environments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
