General Description and Scientific Significance<\/b><\/p>

During the DIZMO expedition, conducted in 2025 aboard the AGS-61 Cabo de Hornos, the IMO focused on recovering the main anchor installed in the Atacama Trench and on the acoustic data download from the FETCH AZA system. The campaign was carried out in collaboration with the Millennium Nucleus for the Study of Deoxygenation in the South Eastern Pacific Ocean (DEOXS), the IMO, the IOC, and the Chilean Navy.<\/span><\/p>

The mission made it possible to consolidate the oceanographic and geodetic observations obtained during the previous years, strengthening the deep monitoring system of the Atacama Trench and expanding national collaboration in deep ocean research.<\/span><\/p>
